Open the extension panel, go to the Settings tab, and flip on the platforms you want under Background Sync. From then on the extension syncs new conversations from each enabled platform once an hour, with no file exports involved.

Steps

1

Open Settings

Click the floating MemoryPlugin button on a supported site, then open the Settings tab in the panel.
2

Enable Background Sync per platform

Toggle on the platforms you want: Auto-sync ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, or TypingMind conversations. Each platform has its own switch.
3

Check on it any time

Use View Sync Status & History in the same section, or open the Sync tab to see what is synced and what isn’t.
Auto-sync needs you signed in to both MemoryPlugin and the source platform in that browser. Gemini sync is experimental and may break when Google changes things.

Syncing manually instead

If you’d rather sync on your own schedule, open the Sync tab and use the Sync dropdown: Sync All, Sync current page, or Choose chats…. Progress shows as of unsynced chats” and you can cancel mid-run.

Have a big backlog?

For hundreds of old conversations, uploading an export file from the dashboard is faster than syncing chat by chat. See Importing Chat History.
